What should i feed a 2 foot kingsnake?

right now we feed him one pinkie every 4 days, what kind of food should he be eating right now and how often?

If I were you I would start trying to feed fuzzies- maybe 1-2 every week.  Your snake can gorge itself, so do not keep feeding it just bc it keeps eating.  I raise my own mice so that I can give them a great diet so that I KNOW what is going into my snakes bodies everytime I feed them.  A lot of times mice from stores are sick or not healthy and its not too good for your snake to eat.  Or get them from a breeder you can trust.  Maybe buy them offline frozen. He should be on at least fuzzies once a week.  A good rule of thumb for feeding snakes is to not feed any prey that is larger than the largest portion of the snake so use that to gauge prey size.  Kingsnakes usually get to be around 3 feet long and as adults eat large mice or small rats.  I think your underfeeding your snake at this point so do some comparison between the size of fuzzy mice and hopper mice and the largest portion of your snake and decide from there.  If you decide to continue to feed pinkies then feed a bit more often (every 3 days).

What ever you do, do NOT feed the snake on a daily basis not even a bi daily basis. I have a corn snake that has been growing from about a foot long. He is now 3 ft long. I started with pinkies and move on to fuzzies and now he is eating a full size mouse once every week or two weeks.

go off the size of his girth - widest part of the body, by doing this you will be able to see what size of mouse you can feed. by this size he should be on fairly big fuzzies, or small mice.

Move up from pinkies, a little bigger. You have to feel your snake out to know how times a day it should eat. Watch its behaviors.
