  1. Here you go! You know, if you want to know about any animal al you have to do is type in "[insert species name here] care sheet" and you'll get what your looking for.

Good luck and don't get bit, they think everything is food or danger.

  2. try cabbage :]

  3. Small turtles are carnivores. Feed earthworms, fishes (not goldfish), soft-bodied insects, and liver dusted in bone meal. In another half-dozen years, you can try introducing dark green leafy vegetables.

  4. fish

  5. Primary diet is fish.  Please don't feed him cabbage, not that you'd have a good chance getting him to eat it.

Google the animal.  You'd be surprised what you can learn besides the fact that it will take your hand off in a single bite, as an adult.

Be aware of the adult aspects of the animal you own.

You can never learn too much (key word here is learn).

Do your research, and be a responsible owner.

Good luck with your aggresive animal (forearmed is forewarned).

I hope this has been of help.

  6. First of all, I just have to say that I hope this is a store-bought pet, not a wild-caught turtIe.  If it is wild, it is ILLEGAL to keep it as a pet.

Assuming this is a store-bought pet: I used to work at a wildlife center, and this is what we fed our snapping turtles:

Lots of raw veggies: chopped greens (dark, crispy stuff like kale were popular), carrots, zucchini.  Try different things and see what he likes.  Chop it up in very small pieces or he probably won't eat it.

Live minnows: just one a day if he's a juvenile.

Frozen crickets: 2-3 a day for a juvenile.

Good luck.  Watch your fingers- snapping turtles are faster than they look.
