Question:

What should i fix for dinner?

my children are 8 and 10 and they are very picky eaters. and my brain is tired of thinking of things to cook, nothing sounds good to me anymore...please give me some ideas.

  1. umm i am wondering the same what came off the top of my head is lasagna with garlic bread or if nobody likes lasagna , have baked ziti  : )


  2. chicken fingers, mash potatoes, corn, hot dogs, burgers, (foods that kids like)  

  3. 1) Make your own taco night (set out bowls of lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc. Have the kids put their own together.)

    2) Soup and sandwich (tomato soup or chicken noodle with grilled cheese)

    3) Potato cars (take a potato...the type you use to make mashed potatoes... hollow out a hole in the center and bake at 350 for about 20 min. Take our and fill hole with something like ground meat or vegetables...cooked of course... then put in oven for another 20.)

    4) Chicken cutlets (chicken breast, dipped in egg and breaded. Bake in oven)

    5)Bread, mozzarella cheese (the good kind) and tomato

    Here's a tip. Next summer, have the kids plant their own garden. Plant peas or squash or cucumber. They'll love eating what they grew.

  5. this is so easy i make it for my younger brothers and sisters, every kid loves mac and cheese, go to the grocery store and pic up a family sized stoffers mac and cheese, you get plenty of food for a little price and kids love it, plus you dont even have to cook, its so simple!they can be don in like 5 min!--seriously a nobrainer, you can also get individual meals from stoffers, just pop em in the microwave!also marie calenders chicken pot pies, those go right in the oven and taste delicious!

  6. Bachelor Salad:

    Get a head of lettuce.  Take a knife cut it in four.  Rinse the knife.  Have them stand over the sink.  Pour salad dressing over the lettuce and eat it over the sink.  Serves four and kids will eat it because it's different and fun.  Since you rinsed the knife no dishes.

  7. tacos! mac and cheese! or waffles! or put a bunch of lunch meat out and let them make their own sandwich!

  8. fruit sailed chicken with broccoli some White rice or Fri rice and some normal sailed it really heathey and has a lot of flavor having it tonight

  10. I made homemade pizza burgers for mine and they loved them!

    Get some italian sausage and fry it up *hamburger if they don't like spicy*

    Mix in some "Pizza Quick Sauce" it's really good & rich

    Put it on buttered bagel halves

    Put on a small slice of any type of Italian cheese they like

    Toast in the oven (around 400 degrees) until slightly crisp

  12. Let them eat cereal and take a break. Kids will eat cereal 24/7.

  14. This is easy and good. My kids love it!

    1 can big refrigerated biscuits

    1 jar pizza sauce

    mozzerella cheese (or other)

    Take 2 biscuits and roll out into small crust. Top with sauce and cheese and any other toppings. Bake on cookie sheet at 375 for about 10 mins, until cheese is melted.

  15. I'm just thinking when I was about that age my favorites were: Lasagna, tacos, fetticini alfredo (I am older now, not sure if my spelling reflects it haha), uhm... I loved sausages and perogies, chicken ceasar salad, BLT sandwhiches, and my all time favorite was pork chops and potatoes. My mom spoiled us :D

  16. do they like bar b q chicken?  i am haveing that tonight.  i just threw it in the crock pot - the chkn brsts and the sauce.  it with be very tender and ready to eat tonight.  you can do pigs in a blanket.  these might be appealing to the kids and they r easy.  you get a pack of hot dogs and a tube of the easy biscuits.  the buscuits that r in the cardboard tube and kind of pop open.  anyway, just wrap each hot dog with one buscit.  pinch the biscuit so it stays wrapped.  bake according to the buscit directions and serve with chips.

  17. Have breakfast for dinner - they'll think it's cool.

    French toast or waffles or bacon & eggs or maybe an omelet.

    homemade pizza(easier than it sounds)

    a chicken and broccli dish with teriaki sauce (japanese)

    ask the kids wut they like and try to incoorperate those into the dinner! hope that helps!

    3 cups chicken breast (cooked and cubed)

    1 cup pineapple (diced)

    1/2 cup celery (diced)

    1/2 cup mayonnaise

    1/4 cup raisins

    1/4 cup walnuts

    1/8 cup dried cranberries

    2 Tablespoons sweet onion (minced)

    2 Tablespoons apple juice

    Combine all ingredients in a bowl until well combined and chill. Serve with a lettuce garnish.

    ***You can use the chicken salad as a sandwich filling.***

  23. make some pasta shaped like the alphabet..you can find it at the grocery store and kids love it.  put some butter on it and soem parmasen cheese.  You can make fruit parfaits too with yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, and stuff and then let them drizzle honey on the top to make it sweet.  If you arent feeling healthy just make them some tyson chiken nuggets or mini pizzas both of which you can find in the frozen isle of the supermarket.  but a thing of like 20 popsicles and let them have it if they eat their food.  have fun =)!

  25. you can never go wrong with chicken [ unless your a vegetarian] or maybe some pasta with dressing or mac and cheese kids love that!

    Porcupine Balls

    1 egg

    ½ cup water

    1 envelope lipton onion soup mix

    1 ½ lbs lean ground beef

    ½ - ¾ cup uncooked minute rice

    1 – 46 oz bottle of Campbell Tomato Juice

    1 tsp sugar

    Beat egg slightly with water and 2 tbs soup mix. Mix lightly with beef and ¼ cup of rice. Shape into large meatballs (1 ½ to 2 inches). Roll in remaining rice, pressing it lightly into the meatball. Use more rice if needed.

    Heat tomato juice to boiling. Stir in remaining onion soup mix and sugar. Place meatballs in sauce and cover. Simmer, stirring several times for 50 minutes.

    Serving suggestions:  Great with a vegetable or salad and rolls.
