First you need to look at what games interest you the most.

Spend some time looking at each systems most popular titles. And allow that to help your decision.

Its not the system that normally entertains you. Its the games for that system. So let that be the deciding factor.

Are you a Halo guy?  Do you prefer the Final Fantasy Chronicles?  etc etc etc

Well you should love up all the hottest games for both systems first that you may be interested in. PS3 has some great games out already with awesome out-of-this-world graphics.

it depends on what kind of games you like to play the playstation 3 probably is going to get a whole lot of rpgs and the 360 is pretty famous for shooters like halo if its still cool of course but the 360 still has some really good rpgs and the ps3 has good shooters like metal gear solid 4 the ps3 is good if you play for a long time cause it  doesn't overheat that easily their tested for that but the 360 can over heat in like 2 hours i have both just cause i couldn't make up my mind and i wanted to play halo3 i didn't like halo 3 that much its good if you can play online and online is free for the ps3 but for the 360 you need to have lots of cash and you need to buy gold membership cards and the ps3 has trophies the 360 only has achievements trophies are better because you can actually look at the trophies i like the ps3 better just in my own opinion
