What should i get 2001 lexus IS300 or 2003 audi A4?

both vehicles have the same miles which is 84,000 and cost the same from a private dealer.

taking into consideration reliability and also same price for both

The IS is a better vehicle between the two. Audi has a BAD track record with their A4. The old ones were incredibly slow. The new ones are slightly quicker but you get rattles and notorious unreliability in exchange.

I'm not sure where K get's his info, but it's highly generalised. How slow/fast the A4 is depends on which engine you get; the smallest engine won't be too quick, but that's because it's in a heavy, well built car. There are, however, plenty of faster engines, right up to the 185mph S4.

As for reliability, Lexus are indeed very good, but Audi's reputation (at least in Europe) is very good also. Build quality may, by a smidgen, go to the Lexus, but the Audi will be a better drive with more character.
