What should i get - dell or mac?

which computer is better? i am a middle-school student and i only want to download manga + music and use it for SOME school work. from what i've heard, mac is way better but it's super expensive. dells are cheaper but i heard the inspiron is good. mind that i have to pay half for the laptop.

Mac isn't way better!!!!!!!  You have to have a good computer to use Vista, just get the Dell just make sure you have a dual-core processor and at least 2 GB of RAM.

dell, compaq, hp, sony, are all pretty much the same in the sense that they both use Windows Vista, which shouldn't be a problem.  If you are more familiar with Windows, then get Windows.  If you are more familiar with Macs, then get a Mac.  I know, there's a lot of hype about Macs, but seriously, if you don;t know how to really use them, it will create a lot of problems for you in the future

Since its just for music and manga get a dell and get at least 2gigs of ram since your gonna be using vista but really to be on the safe side go with 4gigs of ram the dell inspiron looks good and you can show off to your friends and stuff because on the dell there are art works you can put on it which makes it look realli cool where the mac there is only white and black but dells are really cool if you realli have the money

The Studio line of Dell laptops are a good product, as well as the inspiron line of desktops.

Dells are not cheap, rather, most run the same costs as a Mac.

Macs are "cool" - so everyone wants one.

They are not in any way better, besides their interface, but hey!

Why don't you get an Acer? You're not really using a computer for what it's for, you're in middle school. Acer's are DIRT cheap.

macs are good if you need to it for specific things. like my cousins is a dj and they have special programs he can record and what not.

i have a dell i love it, they're cheap and well made. if your only in middle school there is no way you need a mac, their really not that great.

you cant get word on it you'll have to use another not as good prgram for school work and when you have more school work, get into highschool you cant send attachments on your email to or from your computer.

i'd go with dell, it's accessible to SO many more programs.

True about the viruses! I have 2 Macs, the MacBook Pro and the iMac. I haven't had any problems and i really enjoy having them.

i love my mac, it's really simple to use and is fabulous. if you really want windows (word, powerpoint, etc) you can also download it on the computer. Macs may be a little more expensive but will last a long time! <3
