What should i get for my first skimboard?

i want to try skimboarding. i have a little experience with a boardwalk skimboard but i want to get a real one now. how can i pick my first skimboard? i am 210lbs, 5'8, and will really only be using this for sand skimming. what properties should i look for in my skim board? i would also like it to be under $100 and will probably get wood. thanks in advance

  1. Get a good, solid wood skimboard from Victoria for under $100, probably around 80 or 90 bucks at most. I've had a Victoria Woody that's lasted me for 7-8 years and it still rips. They're excellent for learning on and very durable. When learning to skim, it's best to have a solid, slightly heavier and wider wooden board, with the traditional skimboard tapered shape.
