I like to give a Visa or AMEX gift card.  Then they can get whatever they want.  Or if they have a certain favorite store, you can get a gift card from there.

At that age, I would call her mother and find out what her favorite stores are and buy her a gift card.  A bit impersonal, perhaps, but girls that age want to be able to pick out their own clothes.

If you want to give it a more personal touch, offer to take her for lunch and shopping that day, so you can spend time together, she can spend the gift card with you there, and you get to see what she chose.
