I never know what to get my dad either... Typical man who has everything... I usually go to a store that caries items he is interested in and get him a gift card with an appropriate card, then fix him a meal of his choice and invite over to dinner...  Any way, your time and love are the most important gift you can give your Dad....

How much do you want to spend on him?  It all depends.  Go get a few lures (rooster tail, spinners, Joint backs).  Make sure the lures are chrome or silver with a little black on top.  This color mimics a shad which is a fish's most eaten fish food.  You could get him a pole (ugly stick) cant go wrong with that.  There are tons of other accessories that go along with fishing.  Go to a local fishing/tackle shop and talk to them about it.  They will have plenty of ideas.

i always got my dad a giftcard beacuse he never knows what he wants at the time...so thats always and idea...but if you dont like that or its not personal enough then id shoot for something like fishing related..a new pole or ask a worker at a fishing store what a good present would be for someone that loves fishing because he most likely has all the supplies and equipment that he needs to already go. good luck

A gift certificate to somewhere that sells fishing supplies.  Here in Canada we have Canadian Tire (if that helps).  That way he can pick out what he wants, and it still shows that you know him well!

For my dad's 50 I clubbed together with my siblings and got him an activity voucher. He chose to do a Microlight air flight and was thrilled that he got to control the plane!!!

If he loves fishing, get him something like a white water rafting experience in Scotland. If he stays for a night, He may have the opportunity to fish in the amazing Scottish Lochs the next day.
