I'd make sure that on a shopping trip to downtown hamilton you spend a little time with her looking at things, and when she sees something she adores, within your price range, you get it for her. Something she can remember the trip, and something she remembers you got for her!

What a great friend you have.  Be sure to get her parents something too, along with an extremely gracious thank-you card right after you return.  As for the birthday girl, you could take her to the spa at your hotel for a mani/pedi and a facial.  This way she'll feel beautiful at her birthday dinner.  Have a great time!
