What should i go see in paris?

There's so much to see in Paris that you should definitely do some research and map out things that you find interesting or places you want to explore. Of course there are the places that you have to visit in Paris: the Louvre museum, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, l'arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Garden and the Bastille. The Pompidou Center is a cool place to visit with interesting art structures on the exterior and interior.  The fountain outside makes this a perfect place for pictures. Other places to check out- the Conciergerie prison, the Catacombes (a famous underground burial place), Pere la Chaise cemetary (JIm Morrison is buried here), the Sorbonne (world famous institution), Luxembourg Garden, Musee D'Orsay and  the famous Moulin Rouge. If you want a short trip outside Paris visit the magnificent Versailles, Giverny (Monet's home and inspiration) and the Bois de Boulogne (2,000 acres of beautiful park).  There's so much more to see and enjoy.

I would recommend one of the cemeteries, not for the famous people buried there, but for the beauty of these places.

honestly, it really depends what you are into. you can't go wrong with the typical stuff though: the louvre, eiffel tower, sacre coeur and montmatre, champs elysee and arc de triumphe.

there are many other museums in the city which may or may not interest you, again depending on what you enjoy.

i would definitely recommend going to the palace of versailles and if you have time, go out to giverny, where monet lived.

not sure how long you are in paris but really you never run out of things to see and do!

If you're there for the history and beauty, go to all the normal places, The louvre, eiffel tower, etc...

One of my favorite places there wasn't what you always picture as what you want to do in paris, The HardRock Cafe. It's really good if you are a bit hoimesick and you're from an english speaking country. Take a cruise down the Seine River, it is very relaxing

See all of the typical tourist sites like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Lourve. There are good reasons why they are all so popular.

One of my favorites is the Paris Opera building: Opéra Garnier which aloows tours during the day when they are not rehearsing. It's a very ornate building richly decorated with friezes, columns, and winged figures among other statues and embellishments.  Inside is velvet, gold leaf, nymphs, cherubs and grand marble staircases. The auditorium's central chandelier weighs over six tons, and its ceiling was painted in 1964 by Chagall. The Phantom of the Opera  was inspired by the building because of the underground water pooling from the foundation pit of the building, it created a huge subterranean lake. Employees claimed the opera house was haunted by a mysterious ghost and the story was born.

Right behind the Opera building are the Galeries Lafayette,  a 10 story gallery of high end shops, the building has a beautiful glass and steel dome, and Art Nouveau staircase built in 1912 by the architect Cahnautin. The building is also a historivcal monument.

Versailles is a must see. To get a sneak peak of what Versailles looks like, rent the Academy Award-winning 2006 film Marie Antoinette directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Kristen Dunst. The production crew was given unprecedented access to the Palace of Versailles including the famous Hall of Mirrors.



Last but not least, my very favorite part of Paris is St Germain and the latin Quarter, lots of winding, narrow cobblestone streets packed with cafes, bakeries, patisseries and quaint boutiques.
