What should i pack/wear for san francisco?

I am from long island and i am going to san francisco for the start f a 2 1/2 week vacation. i will be leaving monday morning and will be staying there until thursday afternoon. i am 17, a typical teenage prep. Any ideas on what to wear for san francisco since i understand it is sometimes quite cold even in the summer?

unlike los angeles; the people of san francisco dress well. so take some nice, tasteful pants and skirts; you will need a jacket and a sweater.  i thought if san francisco summer as the same as los angeles winter.  an umbrella or water-proof jacket will be useful.  use a money belt; pickpockets can spot a tourist in a minute.

Bring things to layer.  It does get cold, but you will probably be doing a lot of walking around so you will warm up.
