What should i put in my tank to get my fantail and oranda to breed

i have a large fantail and oranda i want to breed what should i put in the tank lots of plants none ?shells or rocks? also do they only breed in certain times or will they go at it during when ever and i dont have a heater do i need one in there tank so they can breed?? and does it matter if plants are real or fake?

  1. Firstly, is there any reason you want to breed these two varieties? The fry will be fugly and no pet stores will take them. Homing them will be tricky and you may find yourself with dozens of young and growing goldfish with no future. Its akin to breeding two mutt dogs.

    However if you still want to breed, you are out of season. They are seasonal breeders who breed in springtime. To breed you need more than a pair, do you even know if you have males/females? And at least a 50-60 gallon tank. Read this site:
