  1. some pieces of flat slate or a rough cement patio stone to feed it on, helps wear down beak and nails. Some potted edible plants, a shallow dish for bathing and drinking. A cuttle bone for calcium, and a box to hide in.

Most tort experts say NOT to use under heat, that tort will cook their bellies, but only to use overhead heat sources.

I'm not an expert but I believe they have learned that one the hard way, so I'd just go with overhead UVB light.

  2. That depends a lot on the species, and where you are (which will affect how you heat and the humidity levels, etc.)

Try http://www.tortoisetrust.org for great care ideas in the meantime!

  3. you'll need some sort of heating e.g a heat lamp or an undersubstrate heat mat and also you'll 100% need an U.V light. depending on the tortoise your keeping you may want to add some sort of logs(I know my Russian Tortoises love to burrow and climb their logs)
