  1. I agree, more sea monkeys, or brine shrimp.

You could always put a female betta in there, they are smaller than the males, and bettas do not need a heater.

They are not very high strung fish.

A female betta would be your best bet.

other tropical fish need heaters, and to be in schools.

Add little rocks, to leave as much room as possible.

Bettas are an exception the the "1 gallon for every inch of fish" rule.

    They need very little room.

  2. Unfortunately you really should not keep anything in this size tank.  You "could" have a couple shrimp or snails but nothing would be happy with such a small living space.  Also what needs to be taken into consideration with small tanks is water changes.  In a tank this size you would need to change the water almost daily as to not suffocate the creatures living in it.

You would get a lot more enjoyment out of a bigger tank with more inhabitants.  There are MANY options too, from fish to shrimp to snails to small lobsters & crabs (even in freshwater!).

I also appreciate you knowing that Bettas need more than just a glass of water!  Bettas come from tropical temperature waters which means they need more than the average room temperature.  They CAN live in a cup of water, only because of a special air breathing organ (labyrinth) but that doesn't mean they don't need warmth & filtration. They prefer open spaces & are incredibly curious fish as well which makes them incredibly rewarding pets given the right living conditions.   Who wants to spend their entire life in a room the size of your bathroom?

I have listed only a few of the many many sites as sources.

  3. This is only a mite over a pint folks.  I wouldn't even keep sea monkeys in there, and brine shrimp won't live in there long.

Snails maybe.  There is a tiny South American catfish called the candiru that you might be able to keep in there.  Just don't pee in the water.

Actually the second site is better for info, including size and feeding requirements.

  4. one or two shrimp... maybe ghost shrimp or red cherry shrimp, they are pretty interesting to watch...

  5. water

  6. its perfect for a siamese fighting fish, but you could only have 1 because they are very agressive towards other fish

  7. More sea monkeys. It's too small for anything else. If you have other fish, you could raise brine shrimp for them to eat.
