  1. Ask your adviser. They'll know best.

  2. Criminology and criminal justice are both majors and require several classes focusing on different specifications within the field.  Forensic science may be a major at some universities, but typically you dabble in it when pursuing science-related degrees.  Pick a university before picking classes.  Then meet with an advisor who can help you decide when to take what.  Many classes have pre-requisites.  In other words, they require you to take classes in a certain order.  Some classes aren't actually available until you are a junior or senior.

Criminology is more of a psychology focus.  It would deal with what is going on in the mind of a criminal.  What are their behavior patterns?  How do you work up a profile? etc etc

Criminal Justice will deal more with history and law.  You'll learn about the inner-workings of the criminal justice system, our government, our penal codes, etc etc

Forensic science is just that - a science.  You'll want to take a lot of biology and chemistry to understand DNA sampling and chemical makeup.

Any of these could be paired together in Major/Minor combos as well.

  3. I used to work in  a crime lab as a chemist, so let me help.  Criminology and forensic science are completely different major rather than individual courses.  You select your major and then you can minor in one of the others.

I don't know much about criminology courses, but if you want to major in forensic science, choose a university that has the senior year as an internship in a state crime lab. The American Assoc. of Forensic Scientists has a list of approved schools on their site.

You would need to take quite a few courses in biology and chemistry for this program.

  4. i did criminology and criminal justice, which was very interesting and will help you with the basis of forensic science as you may be able to choose a forensic crime module
