What should i take in college to work with big cats

i want to specialize in big cat caring. like at a zoo or at a cat sanctuary? Im looking into colleges and i want to make sure i get the best education in what i will need.

  1. Usually the school you are applying for has that all down on paper. The paper tells you what classes you need to take, when to take those classes, etc.

    Are you attending a school that offers zoology? If so (even if not), ask the counselor. He/She should be able to help. You may need to continue your education in a specialized field, after you receive your degree in Zoology, to go into big cat care.

    For my guess, you would take classes similar to veterinarian studies. There will definitely be some chemistry. Sorry, I can not be of more help.


  2. I would start with Biology,

    but I know some colleges offer Zoology as a major (usually the larger aggie schools). Large State Schools offer these kinds of programs. You will also find lots of veterinary students at these schools too.

    But you can approach your interest from an Ecology/Conservation aspect too if you want.
