  1. Muay Thai/Jiu Jitsu.

    Take wrestling in school.

  2. Start with TKD, its a good art for younger practisioners (although its never too late to start if you are interested.) It will give you a lot of training in kicks you can carry over to kickboxing if you decide to continue yoru training elsewhere later on.

Both arts place an emphasis on speed. Depending on the school, TKD can offer you a very wide spectrum of techniques (the ITF version encompasses more self defence techniques) at different combat ranges, whereas kick boxing tends to lean towards a closer stand up fight.

Once again, every school is different, check them both out and ask for a week's worth of trial lessons. A good school won't have a problem with this, so remember it is their business, they have an interest in getting you to sign up so don't let them force you into an early decision.

  3. muay thai!

  4. i suggest kickboxing because tae kwan do is more i dont noe but people become black belts in like 2 years and once i see a black belt fight they have nothing compared to the black belts in kickboxing im not saying tae kwan do is weak it all depends on the fighter but i find there is more to master is kickboxing so i suggest kickboxing. Cause i do kickboxing and love it.

  5. The thing with TKD is that there are a lot of McDojo's out there. So they overprice, and dont even teach you right. In a typical McDojo, you will see young blackbelts, like as young as 7 years old. Do not sign any contracts. Those are sign of McDojos. Most TKD schools are mcdojos, it will be very hard to find a real dojo. So I say do kickboxing.

  6. I took Taekwondo a year back (12 years back too), I thought it was completely useless. We do unrealistic high kicks and boring forms. If you see olympic or competition TKD you see them just tap each other, its more for speed. Its not really effective if your trying to beat someone up. I recommend you do kickboxing, more tough sport!

  7. my opinion is kickboxing...

and your actually a 12 year old boy...

  8. Kid Dont Ask Stupid Questions Your Acting Like An Young idiot. Your Only 12 Years Old if You Wanna Defend Your Self Tell Him To Step Back. If He Still Stands There Then Swing Your Fastest At His Chest. If That Doesnt Work Do Your Ko Punch Squat Down Really Low Like Your Taking it Up The ***. Then Swing Right At His Nuts Ull Get Him Real Good.

  9. Find a school.

If schools in both disciplines are equally accessible, pick the one with the best teacher.
