  1. condoms !

  2. Can you add some details such as how long you're coming for and when?

Clothing- bring both cool and warm weather clothes.  The mountains are cool, year round and evenings in Jalisco, even near the beaches, are chilly.  If you're planning to stay a while, bring a few umbrellas- they're really expensive here and they don't last long during rainforest storms if you happen to be caught in one.

Be well stocked on your fav toiletries- American products are hard to come by (like umbrellas!) and more expensive than in the states.  Also, Mexican products tend not to be very high quality.

If you're moving here- ELECTRONICS.  If I was moving to PV again, I'd ship in or bring any electronics I would need here.  Laptops, cell phones, (software too), etc- up to double the cost here than in the states and not much selection.  Beware if you ship them in however- they're might be a "fee (cough cough)" from the local post office.

Air bed, soft towels, quality sheets and bedding- comfort is not big in Mexico.  Rock hard beds (all furniture here actually), scratchy sheets, and rough towels are typical here so bring your own.

If you like peanut butter- bring your own.  They have one brand here and it's awful.  You can find a rare jar of Jiffy in American aisles in the grocery store but I've seen them priced as high as $7 USD.  Incidentally, I paid $4 USD for a dented can of cranberry sauce last Thanksgiving- $45 USD for a turkey which I then had to fend off turkey thieves.  Oh mayo without lime-  all the mayo in Mexico has lime.

Oh and bring a freaking can opener.  I know this sounds funny but they seem to only sell those dinky metal ones that break the first time you use them-  I brought 2 back with me the last time I went to the states!

    Hope this helps!

  3. you should go speeding across the northern deserts of mexico.  Like doing 360s and stuff.
