  1. counting, colors, shapes. animals, singing, dancing to the music,  once she can count well, get a candyland game and play it with her.....let her color with crayons and coloring book, read to her, teach her letters, and teach her  to write her name,  your name and other family members.....

  2. To be more acute than obtuse.

    Sorry, couldn't resist! ;-)

  3. why?

better get started on the college entry exams... right away!

never too early to begin the propaganda....

  4. Teach through art! Lether paint or color numbers, letters, animals. Read, sing, dance, play dough. :( I wish my kids were this little again. :O(

  5. You could provide her with lots of books, some that have stories with music cd's, educational play sets that she could begin to use her imagination with. Look for educational products for her age level.

  6. Let her learn how to bake - measure - pour - spread out - mix

Let her learn to do the laundry - sort down the hall by color - turn clothes right side in - fold towels -

Let her learn to wash the dishes by stacking in the dish washer or unload - sort the silverware - stand the cups - put the measuring cups in the right order ( wash those everyday so she can practice)I hope same of these ideas help

  7. Math: money, play "grocery store" or "restaurant" at home with her, counting numbers and adding using apples, bananas and fruit.

Science: take her to a garden and show her flowers, vegetables, explain where food comes from, have her view nature and wildlife in the backyard, the zoo, she can catch bugs in one of those plastic boxes with the magnifing glass on top (then let them go of course). set up a birdfeeder in your backyard. take her to a planetarium or an aquarium

Language: dora the explorer for spanish, teach her her abcs and how to write her name. take her to the library and teach her about borrowing books-tell her when she is older she can have her own library card. make a big deal out of this. read to her every night. encourage her to tell you what she sees in the pictures.

Other: teach her her address, how to tie her shoes and her phone number. play hide and seek. play the cleanup game-sing a song that you make up about cleaning up toys to teach responsibility

Music: buy her music on tapes, sing folk songs to her-the farmer in the dell, if you're happy and you know it, etc.

  8. :-)  Challenge her but don't push her...go at her speed and with her interest at that time.

It seems to me that this question is beyond the basic concepts so maybe I can suggest that she'll learn by example.  eg) You're stuck on something so instead of getting frusterated you start talking out loud about it and how you could solve the problem.  It also means that you accidently on purpose choose a solution that might not work very well...just so you can talk about that!  I've done it and for my child...it was a "funny" because he was starting to be able to tell me why it didn't work well.

Your child starts talking about the butterflies... and eventually she asks a question that you do not know how to respond with a "kid answer".  So you pack up and go to the library and involve her in the process of finding a book, etc.  Possibly you get on the internet...because that is the way that "research" is going.  If you really want to get into it...of course if she loses interest...you stop too!...but at this age they can begin to understand graphs...and they actually like to be involved with them...so make a chart/graph with the butterflies.  Provide some art ideas...incorporate a little math.  The point is that your child is going to start talking about what interests her and through your enthusiasm and excitement she's going to become that way as well.

Good luck!   She will definately benefit from this in life!

  9. Read to her!  Answer her questions.  Take her to the library.  Have fun with her.

  10. You will find some answers on my website

    www.momadewizkids.com

Other than that you can do flashcards, read a lot of books, Sing rhymes etc

    Rgds

    Deepali

  11. Spend time one-to-one with her playing, cooking, painting, playing outside in garden etc.

Going on walks: go to woods and collect leaves, twigs, etc and then go back home and make book marks or a picture for nanny!

When you go shopping: give her a list of things to find eg: cut outs from magazines, labels from old tins/yoghurts-this way she is learning pre-reading skills and its fun!

Lots of praise for everything...kids enjoy learning when they feel they are good at it.

Sing along to the TV-cbeebies etc, get up and dance...this will develop communication skils and physical skills.

Go to parent and toddler groups or Stay and Plays -can give you ideas for things to do at home.

  12. Maybe you should teach her about animals.
