What should i use instead of paint?????

I just moved to a house and i am not allowed to paint because my parents do not want to paint it white again....

What could i use instead????

You should ask them if you could get away with just painting one wall an "Accent Wall" some cool fun color.

Other Ideas ~ Tapestry maybe a window or wall treatments that goes all the way from the ceiling to the floor.

Nate Berkus showed some wallcovering that's made for apartment dwellers thats easily peeled off when you are ready to move.  Maybe your folks would approve of that since it's temporary.  Also , I live in an apartment and I use tension wire to hang fabric on walls and you can hang pictures or posters right over it.  It really gives those plain walls a new look.

I've often hung quilts on walls and now have a very colorful Pendleton wool blanket up that takes up a large portion of wall; I did this because of our vaulted ceilings as it's really hard to fill that much space without a buttload of wall art.  It makes a dramatic affect.  I've also, as suggested, hung curtains (fabric, what have you) on the wall but for a different reason.  Our old house had very expensive wormy or wormeaten (never figured that out) chestnut type of paneling that was imported from England by the original owner who was a local doctor in town.  I didn't want to ruin the integrity of the room, house or walls so I used curtains to lighten some areas of the living room up; it really helped.  Parents are a drag sometimes! lol  I wanted to paint my room black when I was a teenager and of course I settled for a taupe at their insistence.  Now I'm the drag but a little cooler;-)  for my teenage son.  You could also use three paneled screen or the screens they make that you can put pictures in; be creative and you'll have an awesome room.

You can use sewing needles to hang pictures.  They make tiny holes not easily seen and you can hang a lot of things you would not think you could  with them.  Stick them in at a downward angle and you will be surprised at how strong they are.

Pictures and posters. Or you could hang chalk boards and cork boards and do whatever you want on those without touching the walls.

or you could paint it something else then white and not ask for your parents help
