  1. i went skating recently. Just wear a thick coat, gloves, and a few pair of socks!

    have fun

  2. if its your 1rst time wear sweat pants a tee shirt and a sweatshirt. u should definaly wear gloves and ur hair in a ponytail.but scince u are doing spins buy a skating skirt at spirals and a tee shirt.

  3. thick socks, gloves, sumin warm ... scarf ... get cold hands if you fall over without gloves and the skates can rub without thick socks ... also helps if you tuck your trousers into th skates.

  4. I would suggest wearing clothes, i hear it can be a bit chilly out on the ice.

  5. all your winter gear

  6. When you go skating, remember to wear a thick sweatshirt, anything but jeans, prefered water soaking or water repelling pants, warm gloves, maybe earmuffs, and be sure not to wear thick socks, because that is how blisters come.

To stop, push your feet sideways, and sideways only. Use great force and create a lot of friction with your blades, and that will produce a stop.

With spins, you should ONLY try a basic pivot or two foot spin.  First, stick the toepick of the left foot deep into the ice. Then, push on the right foot hard going counter clockwise. Push a bit more, then get the left toepick out of the ice. Pull your arms in, more to the left, to help you spin faster.

    Good luck!

  7. If this is your first time skating don't expect to be able to land a triple toe!

If it is an outdoor rink I would defiantly suggest wearing a heavy coat, gloves (bring extras), warm pants (no need for snow pants, maybe just layer them), socks, socks, and more socks, and a hat.

If it is an indoor rink, that is a different story. You can defiantly get away with wearing jeans and a fleece jacket with a long sleeve top underneath. Still wear the gloves (but no need for extras), thick socks or bring many to layer them, you can however skip the hat.

Tip: I would wear really comfy shoes to the rink because after wards your feet will probably hurt, especially if it is your first time!! I always wear my Uggs to practice.

These videos should help with spins and stops:

I hope this helps, good luck!!

  8. clothes! skating naked will be an awkward thing to do...but youll stop traffic! o and skates help too!

  9. 2 thick pairs of socks and  skates 1 size too big.

spinning erm... trial and error.... stopping ermmmm hit the wall

  10. Long sleeves are a must. And very thick socks because the skates can really hurt.

To spin, Put your feet side by side, shoulder to shoulder wide, Bend your knees, Pull in your legs together, Pull in your arm at the same time you're pulling in your legs, Spin while bending those legs.

To break, turn your hips 90 degrees away from the direction of travel and move both feet that way at the same time.

    Hope It Helps!

  11. anything flexible. if you can't move, you will fall.

  12. spinning tips:

    1.) don't lean back!!

2.) don't use your toe pick (the spiky thing in front of your blade)

3.) Try to think that you are a top or a horse and follow your tail around

4.) YOU CANT LEARN TO SPIN IN 1 DAY!!

    stopping tips:

1.) If you feel like you are outbalanced bend down and hold your knees.

2.) stopping isn't really easy. The easiest stop is the wall stop.. Put your hands infront of your body and you will stop when you hit the wall. Make sure that they are bent so you wont loose your arm. But IT IS STILL NOT SAFE!!

3.) a basic stop is a snow plow. You bend your knees and then push your right/left feet diagonally what ever feels more comfortable.

    tips on what 2 wear:

1.) wear something comfortable and warm (gloves, scarf etc. but make sure your body can still move)

2.) dont wear something too long (anythinfg that touches the ice)

    3.) DONT WEAR TRASHY CLOTHES!
