wear whatever you are comfortable in either western or indian. but see to it is apt for the dinner party. wear something which will  not make you feel out of place.

Wear jeans with a smart halter black top... semi casual and semi formal. You blend in with all.

More important, wear something you would be comfortable in. You want to have a wild time without embarassment the next day at work. :-)
