What should i wear on the first day of univesity? casual or smart?

casual, people are moving in and you generally have a week before classes get really started anyways. the first few days should be fore making friends, not trying to prove how smart you are. go casual

Casual. You don't want to be the odd one out. If you're smart, you don't need to prove it to anyone with the way you dress.

you should try and go fifty fifty so they dont think your to laid back or to stuck up

dressy casual, you'll look smart and have style, people will look at you and say ooh, that guys nicely dressed but still can play it cool and knows how to look good without over doing it.

casual for sheez.  rock some nice jeans and a cool t.  and don't forgete youre there to learn first, get laid second.

Casual but have a cool conversation piece, like a necklace or awesome shoes. It'll stir up interest with your peers and help you start on your way to making friends.

Plus I'd image the first day as being crazy hectic since university life is a big change from HS.

Casual..you don't wanna appear like you're too much concerned about your look on the 1st day cause that gives the impression of low self confidence..just put on some comfy nice lookin pants and a t-shirt..you'll do just fine..college isn't as scary as people usually think it is when they're in high school..relax =)
