  1. Go ahead and wear jeans, what are they going to do really? It's a 9 hour flight, you want to be comfortable. Wear some nice jeans and whatever shoes with a nice shirt. (they don't want short shorts, trashy skirts, men in sweaty wife beaters, etc.)

  2. i would just look nice/casual. dark jeans, a silk blouse, and heels are your best bet. they can't tell you what to wear though. i've flown business in jeans & a sweater & i was fine. best of luck.

  3. My nephew got some deal on American where he paid a minimal amount for a ticket and his buddy (who works for American) got him upgraded to business class, but he was told to dress "business casual".

I fly business class all the time, but I pay for my tickets so there are no restrictions (I wear shorts).

I'd suggest if you're not guaranteed a seat, to dress nice but bring a pair of sweat pants in your carry on. Once you have the seat, nobody will care what you wear.

    Have a great trip!

  4. It's really not that important.  Just show up early, and hope there is a free seat for you!

  5. They can t tell you wwt to wear, h**l wear your pjama's lol, have a safe flight.

  6. What airline are you taking?  Everytime i've taken business class I've worn shorts, flip flops, t-shirts, jeans, Ftball Jerseys.  Wear something comfortable last thing you want is to be on a plane for 9 hours and be uncomfortable

  7. i think jeans would be fine if theyre appropriate. just wear it with a nice blouse or something and im sure it would be fine.l

  8. If your standby ticket is related to some airline employee program, then you really should dress appropriately. That's because you will be indirectly associated with the airline.

Those of us who are just customers can dress any way we like as long as it is not obscene.

"Dressy jeans" are ok (jeans like what Barbara Walters might wear). No holes and not so low rise that your butt crack is showing. Shoes need not be closed toes but no flip flops.

  9. on a nine hour trip be comfy!! wear your jeans and a comfy t-shirt! You can change into business attire after you arrive!

psssst there really isn't a dress code for planes...just use your judgment and dress as you would in the public

  10. if its a commercial flight they just want you to be clean and dressed appropriate so you dont smell or offend people

  11. Since you are trying to get a stand by-ticket in business class, I would dress as you would for a very importmant job interview. (No jeans, No sweats , no flip flips).

However, in your carry on, bring your jeans, tennis shoes, sweats, once you are on the plane and in the air, change into your comfy clothes.

That way, you still look Business class, serious and deserving of a ticket. But, you will be comfortable for a 9 - hr flight. If there are any questions, just say you will iron your work clothes at the hotel.
