  1. year something ncie like slacks i dont care if its hot the marines have to wear stuff alot hotter

either a shirt that sais marines on it or a polo

  2. I was appalled at the number of people who dressed very inappropriately for my son's USMC Graduation.  Comfortable clothing and shoes, to be sure... but nothing sloppy.  Your brother will have spent 13 weeks hearing about how civilians don't care about their appearance the way Marines do... And there your brother will be, with all his Marine brothers, starched and ironed, marching proud...  I couldn't stand the thought of my son being embarrassed by our appearance... so we didn't go completely casual.  Just tried to stay in the "business casual"... or "church clothes" family...

Slacks and a modest shirt will be great. Shoes need to be comfortable for LOTS of walking, and you'll need to be prepared for lots of sun and heat.  (and sand fleas) You might check with the MarineParents.com website and find out what your brother's Company Color is (you can ask the folks on the Recruits Message Board... they're GREAT!)  We did that, and wore that color in support of the graduating Company... but not the T-shirts, flip-flops, and ratty shorts some of the other folks were wearing.  I actually saw several young women in mini-sundresses and high heeled sandals.  They were miserable!

  3. Dress comfortably and casually.  Definitely not formal.

  4. If female wear a dress and sandals.  Do not wear a sun dress or anything with spaghetti straps (sunburn guarantee).

If male short sleeve shirt and pants.

  5. Keep in mind that if it's at Parris Island, the sand nats will be out in force, so carry repellent.  Remember, this is a very special occasion for all involved, so don't wear anything that will embarrass your brother. Dress comfortable as it will be a long day.  Have fun and show be so very proud of your brother and all the recruits.

  6. A fur coat and a thong.
