A long-distance relative of mine is extremely ill and I'm not sure what exactly to put in the card. We haven't spoken for some time and I'm not entirely sure that she remembers me. Any suggestions?

  1. All you need to say is "I am thinking of you (praying, if you are) and wish for your quick recovery." It doesn't need to be long, one or two sentences in a card is enough. It doesn't matter if she remembers you, I don't think. You could clarify in your closing: "Your step niece" and then your name, or whatever. It matters more than you care enough to send a card than what exactly you write.
