Hi, I'm going to be a junior in high school and I'm a 13 handicap. I take golf very seriously and I play everyday. Currently, I play Mizuno T-Zoid II's and I am looking for a newer and more forgiving set of irons. I was looking at Wilson Staff's Ci7's. Any advice? I don't want to spend more than $500.00 or so. Any advice will be much appreciated!

  1. Ben hogan apex just released a great set. The MX-25's from mizuno are good too. You may also like last years cgreds from cleveland. Buy a set that is for the better golfer (Blades or Musclebacks).  These will benefit you greatly.

  2. First thing I would do is go to your nearest golf retailer and hit some irons.  A lot of your confidence with your clubs will come from being comfortable with them.

If you have a golfsmith or golf tec, they can put you on your computer and actually show you your numbers that matter - club launch angle, club head speed, club head angle -- this can all lower your handicap.

I would also look at golf digest for their ratings.  I play ping i10's, I am a 3 handicap, but recently hit the taylor made r7 and it's a great club.

Remember - just because the pro is sponsored doesn't necessarily means he plays that club - Tiger's Nike's are custom, you can't buy them off the shelf - the same goes for Retief.

    Best of luck.

  3. I am a high school golfer too and i take golfing very seriously too.  If you golf everyday you should get some very high class brand irons because you use them.  I think you should get some Nike iron they offer many iron sets that give you the latest technology and are in your price range.  There is the ignite irons,  Slingshot 4D irons,  and cci irons that are all in your price range.
