I came to the states when i was 7. Been living here ever since. Just finished high school and have been undecided whether to keep going or just start working. This is what i don't want, me putting all this effort in school and getting my degree but not being able to work on my desired career because i don't have a social. I don't think its worth me spending alot of money in education if i wont get nothing back from it.

So i am still thinking about it because i know an education is the best thing to do. In my case it may not be .

What do you guys think. what should i do?

  1. You can't get a job or join the military without a greencard, alien number, for most colleges, you either need a social or alien #, you can start to get a job and try for your greencard, but this process than take years. you can see an embassy closest to where you live, from your native country and they can help you out.

  2. Head back to your own country while there is still time to do so without punishment to you (before reaching 18 1/2 years old).

Come back legally on a student visa and get yourself a college education and become legal.

You could go a long way by having an education and by being legal in the U. S. of A.

    Best of luck to you.

  3. Dude, I'm sorry we did a S****y job and let you get this far.  I know your used to America and are essentially "American", but if your next step doesn't involve become a naturalized citizen then I think you should get the h**l out.  It's just ridiculous that you even have the option of getting a job when you're not going to pay taxes and aren't legal in the first place.

If Next step = become a citizen then

    Stay and get a job

    else

go back from whence you came

  4. It is unfortunate your parents did not commit to your future when you were a child. You may have been legal at this point and could reap all the free government minority benefits and hand outs of a legal citizen. Obvious, too little too late. There is hope on the horizon. If Obama becomes President, you may receive a pardon. This is a touchy subject with most Americans. However all you know is America. Not your fault your parents did not act as responsible fake Americans should have. While this may sound vindictive, it is not. It is the reality of millions of unfortunate illegal Innocent immigrant children being raised in America. Count your lucky stars your still in America. Roll with the punches and make the best of it. Resolve all you future problems and take the necessary steps to becoming a legal American citizen. It's never to late to get an education and protect your children from future discrimination.

  5. you dont have a social security number? do you pay taxes???? if not please leave your ruining our economy.

also its whether not weather. thats in the sky. :) good luck

  6. You should go home before you get deported and face a 10 year ban.

  7. I'm sorry, but I think you should leave this country.

  8. more education

  9. good question

  10. More education......but looking at the other answers, I think it's a threat to highly skilled jobs to.....LOL

  11. Continue with your education for sure...there are ways you can become legal in the united states if that is what you really want. If you have been here since you were 7 it wont be that hard to do. Don't quit the education you will regret it down the line!
