What should my 3.9 v6 automatic dodge dakota idle at?

I had replaced my iacv and now it seems like it idles at a lower rpm.

  1. You don't give the year but I'll give you ours. My wife's '97 Dakota with 3.9 automatic and my '92 Dakota 3.9 automatic, both extended cab 4x4's (not that that should make any difference) idle around 650-700, factory tachs are not that accurate

    I would say yours is idling correctly.


  2. the idle rpm is controlled by the onboard computer--unless you have a trouble code come up.
