What should my central ac be set on during the summer to keep an average size rancher cool?

  1. It's best to set a temp and keep it there because then your house is "maintaining".  62 is way to cool and will end up costing you.  We keep our ranch between 73-76.  Also, keep any lamps away from your thermostat as that will give a false temp reading.

  3. 62????? are you planning on hanging meat????? I'd set it at 74-76. Your electric bill must be outrageous!!!!!

  4. Currently mine is set at 76, The higher you keep it the more money you will save.

  5. Humans are comfortable in a temp range form 70 to 78 F, depending on the humdity level.

    Setting air conditioning  at temps below 70 is costing you money, for no good reason.
