What should my kids do on a 5 hour car trip?

they are sisters, 10 and 12 years old. I am not sure what they could do to keep themselves entertained. We don't have ipods.

Are they excited about the destination? if so, have them talk about it! my friend and I [ 12 and 13 years old ] can talk about where we are going for hours!

Bring cd's to listen to.

watch a movie - portable DVD players aren't that expensive any more.

play cards.

Be sure to stop every couple of hours to get out and stretch a bit.  It will help them from being too crabby.

Portable dvd player(not as expensive anymore) works for my 5 yr old. Movies they can both agree on.You can knock out at least an hour and a half or more with a good movie. Then theres always the portable vid games But I always encourage book/magazine reading. Good luck.
