What should my preschooler need to know and school supplies?

my son is 4 and I'm going to put him in school this year what should his skills be to make sure he is ready? just so i know if he is or not. and what kinda supplies does a preschooler need?

You don't need to know anything before starting preschool. =D  Nor do you need many supplies. The school will give you a list. Most preschools just request a change of clothing, or their lunch if they are staying through lunch.
