Question:

What should my topic be for my essay for Brown University?

I am 100% English, and lived in England for 7 years. I also lived in Scotland for 1 year, and Saudi Arabia for 4. I currently reside in Houston, Texas. I have also traveled to over 30 foreign countries. I'm not sure if I should choose something of the diversity/traveling/living overseas nature for my essay, or my passion for horse riding. I am extremely competitive and it is a huge part of my life. Last summer I was 6th in the nation in my division. I have been told that the overseas/traveling topic is overused. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. Go with horseback riding!!!  Most of the students applying will be writing about some extravagent trip, or study they have completed, but horseback riding will help you stand out.  Standing out from the rest of the field of applicants is extremely important to the Ivy league.
