What should my workout be to be a starting safety for freshman football?

im 5'5 and way about 115 pounds and i want to start at safety next year what are good workouts to do to become a good safety

o and do you have to be able to hit hard?

like tackle?

  1. Work out some more, gain muscle. Work on hitting and tackling and things like that.

    If all else fails, move to somewhere where the coach likes your last name. That works here, if you have the right last name, you play.


  2. wrong section, but youre lucky im a football fan. well. im a swimmer, 5'6, freshman, 130 pounds. for safety, you should eat more protein, gain like ten extra pounds, otherwise football might be a bit tough. make sure you do alot of agility drills, like ladders. practice tackling, as a safety in general, needs to be able to take down a wide receiver. with your size you should be some what quick. also, a safety needs to know how to catch interceptions. just do pushups and crunches each day. eat a lot, dont go on a stupid diet. try some dumbbells to work out. if you dont want to stunt your growth then dont work out. good luck
