What should people wear for dinghy sailing?

Wetsuit? Drysuit? Waterproofs? Helmet?

if you are sailing in the winter and the water temperature can present hyperthermia problems a wetsuit is good and of course a life jacket, maybe a pair of sailing boots. Bon voyage !!

I think for any sailing, the preppier the better.

But then i see your asking about helmets. So, perhaps that would be a good idea. Any opportunity you have to wear a helmet - wear it.

First off it depends where you are sailing.  You can get wet and you can fall in so whatever you have on you should be able to swim in it.  In Annapolis, MD this type of year you would wear a sailing jacket which resist water, in California you would wear dockers a long sleeve shirt and ALWAYS topsiders *by speary)no matter where you live.
