What should she do about her car accident?

my mom was in an accident on the freeway and some car hit her from behind. it wasnt her fault. but the cop who showed up was rude and her insurance co. told her her car would be ready 4 weeks ago. what should my mom do? about the car? and the report?

Is this an issue of the insurance company not staying on top of repairs or is there a problem with the body shop and back ordered parts?  She needs to find out if there's more damage than they thought, as the vehicle may become a total loss if this is the case.

If it's the insurance company she can contact the Department of Insurance in her area.  They regulate insurance companies and assist in possible bad faith claims.

As for the report, if there isn't a descrepancy on it, don't worry about it.  If it's the situation with the CHP Officier you can get ahold of his Watch Commander and report the incident.

Don't worry.  It doesn't matter what the cop does or says.  

Your mom was rearended and its the other guys fault.  Is your insurance company fixing your car?  If so, call them and ask them why its not ready yet.   The only good reason is they have to order more parts or there is a delay in getting them.   Any other reason does not cut it.  Ask your insurance agent or claim rep for somehelp.
