What should teenagers be learning in Church in a world like the one we live in?

That we should remain faithful to Christ at whatever the cost.

The world, right now, is a lot more civilized than it was 2,000 years ago.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

But just believing is not enough.  Probably 99% of church folks don't live with the Lord.  Sure, having faith can get you saved.  But by living with the Lord can make this world sweeter everyday and that is where we should be headed.  Faith alone is not enough--if you want peace where there seems to be none---then teach them to live with the Lord.

--Tolerance for all other beliefs, as long as those other beliefs aren't harming people. Similarly, respect for people who are happy with their beliefs and will not convert...never teach hatred for another belief system.

--Tolerance of people that look different, whether they choose to look different (clothing, piercings, hair) or not (skin color, etc). Similarly, to learn that looks don't make a person, what's on the inside makes a person.

--Respect for each other as human beings...no making the opposite gender an object to be tossed around.

--Respect for the earth and conservation.

--How stupid it is to take hard drugs...don't just tell them, but get a slideshow up of what people's brains and bodies look like after taking things like meth.

--Value of hard work. Not a lot of kids are taught that nowadays.

Good luck! Teaching can be hard, I know I wouldn't want a job like that.

That material things are not important in life.. We may live in a high tech world now, but it doesn't mean that it should control us and the way we live our lives.. We should focus on how we can be good people and how we should spend our lives here on Earth..

to be honest I'm not sure what a Pentecostal church is so for a church like that i cant give a suggestion. however i am a teenager in a Seventh Day Adventist church (SDA). all i have to say is that God intended his word to be a guideline for our lives. so teens should be learning exactly what the adults are learning, how their lives fit into what the bible teaches. the bible should be studied for any and all age groups. but maybe you're asking what things in the bible should people learn? of course all of it, but maybe teens would be more interested in learning about Christ if they know how they can help in the church or in other areas that they think wold help the passing of the Gospel. this is what i think as a suggestion, i hope it helps.

They need to go back to the foundation of the entire Bible and start at the beginning- Genesis chapter 1. This is a humanistic age and a godless one. They have been indoctrinated for years in the lie of evolution. You need to get some resources to help you. If you ask me, all of Christ's true Church on earth needs to do this immediately. We are at war and we must expose Satan and his lies before many are lost.
