  1. Sign Carl Pavano.

  2. disband the team

  3. Carl Pavano? Let's be serious!!!

Sign one good reliever, and also resign Ohman because lets face it. Soriano will be ready come spring training, we have Gonzalez, and keep in mind Moylan will be back. So as long as we resign Ohman and try to get one other person in the pen, we're fine in that department. And Im not talking Julian Tavaraz like people, he's gotta go. Thankfully I dont see us keeping him. And Gonzo should close and Rafael and Moylan can be the 7th and 8th guys...no brainer. Gonzo hasnt blown a save since 04. That stat may be dilluted a bit because he basically missed all of 07, but oh well. Stats dont lie.

I agree on the Lillibridge trade chip. Any team with an upcoming vacancy on the infield could use him, and I dont see why he couldnt be converted into another infield spot. So any team with pitching depth would maybe be interested in his potential. Trade with him? I say go for it.

I agree on Glavine, time to go honey! If he choses to hang it up for some reason, I can say I was at his final win (May 14th in Philly)

  4. They have a few needs. Here's some suggestions:

    1. Smoltz did not apply for his vesting option, but they should negotiate a deal with him. He's still great.

    2. Re-sign Ohman and sign a real closer. Maybe Lyon or Fuentes. K-Rod is too expensive.

    3. Let Glavine go. Sign another inning eater. Preferably a lefty. Oliver Perez would be a perfect fit. Add another pitcher just for depth. Sorry, don't know much about pitching in the farm system.

    4. Trade Lillibridge for a team need. The shortstop market is pretty weak, so he will be at higher demand then usual.

Not a big offseason, but a low risk one that keeps their great core of young players.

  5. Go fishing, play golf, clean the garage, maybe a little traveling.

  6. ship the team to nashville.

  7. rebuild, not reload like they always do.

there comes that time when a team just goes down hill, and now is that time for the Braves. They went on a great 15 year run, sad to see it come to an end like this...
