If you're talking about straight CO2 and run of the mill beer carbonated at standard levels then you'll want about 12-14psi assuming the beer is refrigerated.  From there you can key in your setting specific to your system and tastes.

The pressure you use is the same or just above the level of your beers' carbonation level. The beers' carbonation level is determined by style, temperature, and your preference.
