  1. idk what your into but do something totally different!! think hot pink and lime green. clean cut too, maybe shint hard bamboo dressers, ect. get a shag rug carpet too and lots of matchy pillows. do not do brown your room will look small!! bright bright bright if you want to decorate in dark thats fine...... good luckk !!!

  2. there is www.potterybarn.com which is good for all types of rooms

and yea i like ur thinking..my friend she did something like splash paint the walls and people write all over the wall like little things it was really cute :) but yea if u want to do something not so crazy do a subtle color

  3. My first suggestion would be to live in the new space for a short period of time before making your final decision.  A lot of times, a new room can generate new inspirations.  It might be the way the light comes in the space, or maybe the color(s) of something you see in nature outside the window.  You never know.

In response to your original ideas, however, I think they're both really great and either would work well for someone your age.  Keep in mind, though, that your tastes will change ~ besides, it's a lot of fun to update a room's look down the road when you want to.

Having said that, I suggest you paint your walls a sandy-beige color.  It would be "beachy" enough if you go with that theme; on the other hand, it will also support the brown and pink idea if you used those colors in your beddings, throw pillows, accessories, etc.  Perhaps you could use two different hues of sandy-beige and paint wide, vertical stripes ~ sort of like a cabana look.

Whatever you do, keep the "theme dedicated" pieces to inexpensive items that you can swap out down the line for not too much $$.  (Example: buy brown and pink throw pillows and an area rug; it's easier and less expensive to replace those than to repaint an entire room).
