An old man in a small town was known for being very well organized and always planned activities before doing them.

He then organized a plan to kill 84 people he knew the names of, what weapons he'd use for each killing, what times to kill each person, how he'd get away with each killing, and how to hide the evidence. He organized his activities and even wrote them down to rehearse his plans.

He then went and killed the 84 people. When he got arrested he pleaded guilty immediately. The man felt because he was so honest and even wrote down exactly what his plans were, he would not be punished too harshly. He was honest and he was not insane and therefore felt he'd not be a threat to society and therefore get maybe a few years in jail.

What should this guy be charged with? How much jail time would you give him if you were on the jury?

  1. Life in prison for each victim (84-life in prison sentences with no chance for parole).

84 counts of premeditated first degree murder.

  2. 1st degree Murder and death penalty. Honest or not he killed 84 people.  He probably pleaded guilty because there was so much evidence already...

  3. The fact that he planned out the murders and had written out exactly what he was going to do would only hurt his case, not help it. It shows that the crime was premeditated and premeditation is an aggravating factor.

  4. It depends on who the 84 people were.

    Are you kidding?

  5. First, only Grand Juries can charge people with felony crimes, but since they almost always "rubber-stamp" what the prosecutor tells them, in effect, it is the prosecutor that charges a person with crimes.

Second, 84 counts of first-degree murder. Since he planned it alone, there can be no conspiracy charges.

Third, I would vote guilty on 84 counts of first-degree murder. I would vote for execution; if not that, then 84 CONSECUITIVE life terms in solitary with NO chance of parole.

  6. He should be charged with Murder 1 and I'd recommend the death penalty. How could he not be a threat to society? He is sane and coldly plotted the murder of 84 people.....I'd call that a threat.

  7. He should recieve the death penalty for murder 1 because everything was premeditated, and since he feels like he should be let off easier because he was so honest and wrote everyhting down he would probably be seen as psychotic with no remorse. He may also  be considered one of Dr. Michael Stones most evil, fitting onto his scale at number 16 Psychopaths committing multiple vicious acts, which may also include murder.
