What should we be paying for?

My husband has 3 daughters from a previous marriage. He is paying over 700 monthly for child support. He has this taken out of his paychecks, so he is never late. His ex wife has since quit her job; she says that between child support and government assistance she doesn't need to work. My husband and I also have 2 kids of our own and we support my husband's elderly mother & younger brother's and sisters back in Africa. So, we don't always have a lot of money to buy the girls stuff (even my own kids don't get a lot of things either, my son is 6 years old and has never had a bike. so it's not like I favor my kids over my step kids or anything.) His ex wife always tells the girls that we don't care about them because we never buy them anything. I guess my question is do you all think that we are obligated to pay for all there school supplies and school clothes? We do pay child support every month, and also take responsibility for all the medical co payments and bills although she is supposed to pay half. What do you think?

  1. this is one time i actually agree......

pay what is ordered. leave the rest to the deadbeat mom.  if you are not subsidizing her she may have to get off her lazy a$$ and get a job.
