What should we do in Cozumel?

Question

We are going on a cruise and will be there for the day.

We wanted something really low-keyed.. I will be traveling w/ 3 other middle aged (married) females...

We have been before, and went to Paradise beach,, it was great for the younger crowd, but not us.

Your ideas/opinions are really appreciated.

Where should we eat and why? (cost)

Which beach can we go w/out paying? (elaborate)

Which tour should we take? (cost / details)

*money isn't that big of an issue... but would like to stay w/ just an average price range ~ meals not over $20 pp for lunch...

Playa San Francisco Beach Club is a beautiful beach. The other beach/park I can recommend is Chankanaab National Park. They both charge a fee.

I would check with your cruise ship and see what tours they offer first.

You can always do a tour on your own. Ask a cabby to give you a tour of the island and ask him to recommend a place for lunch. The east side of the island is beautiful and a must see. Bring your camera. You can rent a jeep or take a tour to get there.

We really enjoyed Prima Pasta Seafood & Pizza Trattoria.

It's a favorite of many visitors. Not knowing your taste in food it's hard to suggest. We just kind of walk around and look at the menus and stop if something is appealing. The futher you go away from the waterfront the cheaper the shopping and food.
