What should we do with a law office letter of $5,500.00?

my husband lost his job and we couldn't still doing the credit card payment and we has to give back one truck to de dealer and the bank Rep the other car, at this moment he got a new job but we can cover our mortgage and the payment of the car that he get and utility bills I'm worry about this letter and i don't know what we can do, they ask to pay$600 as first payment and we don't have that money help please !!! wath we should do!
