We were playing frisbee golf at a park. A car was parked in a no parking area off a side road. My brother threw his frisbee and it slipped and accidently hit the car. A woman in the car shouted,"What the @#%#@. She then yelled some more and they drove off. She drove past us later and was yelling but we couldn't tell if she was yelling at us. There are plenty of other places to park at this park. When we came back around to the same hole later, they pulled up and parked right in front of where we throw (launching pad). We realized it was them as we came up to that hole and we just decided to leave. They might have been at that spot to hang out, even though there is a no parking sign. They might have been there to get drugs, the park is kinda a shady place some times. They might have been there to egg on a confrontation. I now don't want to go back to that park but its one of the few places to play frisbee golf. What should we have done? What should we do?

  1. I think you did the right thing.

The person over-reacted, but you DID hit their car - it's somewhat understandable.

I wouldn't let this one incidence stop you from going to the park, though.

Just be more careful where you thrown the frisbee.

  2. I agree, don't be intimidated, go back to the park and play.  But I think you should have a chat with local law enforcement to see if they know what kind of activities go on around there, and that law-abiding folk feel intimidated when visiting the public park.

  3. It's just an angry woman with no other way to vent her frustration. Bad way to do it and I don't see the entertainment in it, but what you did was fine. You can't rule out the park based on that, but if it is a shady place--I wouldn't be going there. Play on your street.

  4. Go back again. Don't let some psycho intimidate you from an activity you enjoy. I believe Frisbee Golf is a team sport so there will be other people with you when you play. If there are any future incidents, your teammates as well as members of the opposing team will be witnesses.

If that car is there again, make a note of the license plate number, year. make, and model of the car. If you see the car consistently and the occupants are not engaging in any park-appropriate behavior, notify the police.

You did the right thing that time. But don't be intimidated by these losers. The park is yours also, and you are enjoying it as it is meant to be enjoyed.

  5. use your cell phone camera and take photo of the car and the sign where it says you can not park your car.that will be another solid proof plus your team mates.

that cell phone camera have saved me many times of people who lied, and when they file false documents against me and with the camera i have won my cases many time.
