This summer, I'm planning to host a barbecue at the lake for four of my friends. What are some foods/implements I should not neglect to have by any means? (Note: Only burgers and hot dogs will be served, not steaks.)

  1. corn on the cob, some cold salads or fruit

  2. Potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw.  These three are a must at any BBQ.

After eating lunch you could also have marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers handy for smores.  But don't forget some skewers for the marshmallows, otherwise you will be hunting around the lake for sticks to use instead.

  3. Plenty of ice, condiments, garbage bags, don't use paper products, get plastic/melamine plates and such a walmart or the dollar store and wash them at home.

  4. BEER!

  5. potato salad, bake beans, lemonade

  6. Definitely napkins.

  7. Cheese for the burgers, all the additions like pickles and onions etc., some sort of fruit salad, mixed drink makins, potato salad preferably homemade, chips...maybe a few snacky things like veggies with dip, chicken wings or buffalo wings whatever they're called...don't really need too too much since it's just 5 of you. Have fun too, lake barbecues are awwwesssommmeeee!!!!!

  8. I WOULD NOT WANT TO FORGET THE BAR B QUE, BEANS.MEAT, POTATO CHIPS, POTATO SALAD, KETCUP, MUSTARD, RELISH AND SOME BUG SPRAY

  9. Never forget the Chips , they go with both hot dogs and hamburgers.

    Have fun.

  10. Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayo, miracle whip, lettuce, cheese, grilled onions, BBQ sauce, tomatoes.

Do not forget to bring a spatula and tongs and serving spoons/forks. Paper plates and cups too. Napkins!

  15. burgers & hot dogs need - buns, cheese, katsup (sp), mustard, & plates.  Added bonuses would be relish, pickles, napkins, & soda or iced tea (if you get 2 liters don't 4get the cups).  Are you having chips for a side? If not make a potato or macarnoi salad  & be sure to bring forks.  All of this will require a small cooler & ice

  25. I don't know if you will consider this a must, but i'm still going to give you this idea.

We have forgoten to have a salad with our food, no matter what we are going to eat.

So i will recomend you to have a fresh green salad with some dressing, i would appreciate to have some of it before a big burger.

And you can have some vegetables for your guest to add to their burger or hot dog by themselfs. It could be letucce and avocado slices. For example, in Mexico we use to add some slices of tomato, onion and of course chilitos to the hotdogs.
