  1. Comfortable walking shoes. Valencia is a great city to walk round.

  2. A device to make orange juice.Valencia´s oranges are famous all over the world.(Just kidding)

Kamol´s answer is the most complete and accurate so far.I have lived in Barcelona for severla years, and I´ve visited Valencia.

  3. Bring your fabulous self and enjoy!

  4. we had a 15 yr old living w us...he was from Northern Spain...what did he like? Well, the first thing was peanut butter. He loved it. Second...he laughed at canned stuff...you know, prepared foods and stuff. Spain has some GREAT wines and if you are staying with someone who loves wine, grab some of our good Californias and bring them. Different types of wine to a wine drinker are like heaven. Bring postcards of your city or town where you are from. Also, he really liked O'Neil t shirts and abercrombie. Other than that, bring a smile and some patience when you go. Its a great town!

  5. I lived in Spain for a number of years.  You definitely need to bring a Spanish dictionary with you if you are not fluent in the language.  Aside from that, make sure to spend an afternoon picnic at the "snake" shaped park that seems to flow through all of Valencia like a river making its way to the ocean.  There are also some nice castles on the outskirts of the city, and some must see cultural locations within the city.  And most importantly, bring a lot of sun lotion because the beaches are just AMAZING!

I forgot one VERY important detail.  Buy any kind of team Valencia Item, such as a hat or t-shirt.  You will notice that people will tend to be friendlier around you, and it is a great conversation starter.  Soccer reigns supreme in Valencia, but watch out for those cocky real madrid and barcelona fans (they can be nasty).

  6. a book to understand spanish. also a book on soccer.  if you don't know about soccer you'll be crusified. believe me a lived there. not in valencia but in madrid, madrid spain. (not a typo)
