What should you do to bring down swelling on a pulled ligament in the ankle??

  1. ice and rest


  2. Use ice to constrict the blood flow which will reduce the swelling.

    Ligaments take a very long time to heal (could be 6 months) so don't push it as it will just prolong the healing.

  3. put ice on the swolen part of your ankle and take some anti-inflamitory medication.

  4. Put ice on it. But no matter what. Even if it feels like it's getting better don't walk on it. You're just getting used to the pain. If you walk on it you could hurt it even worse!!!

  5. Definitly use ice. I tore 2 ligiments in my ankle and was out for about 3 months. Contrast bath helps a lot. If it is still swelling have someone get lotion and milk out the swelling. It is very painful but extremely effective
