    Any major events that happened there.

    General makeup of the area, in terms of ethnic groups, and why they settled there.

    Dates of incorporation.

    General political ideology (e.g. more republicans or democrats and why)

    Religious demographics of area.

    Impact of geography on the local history.  (Was there a river that everyone wanted to be near?  A mountain that no one crossed,etc.)
